Today at church I heard some of the same words that I hear quite often, but for some reason they hit home today. I know many people.
I know many people that go to church and claim to be Christians.
I know many people that go to church and claim to be Christians and act like Christians on Sunday.
I know many people that go to church and claim to be Christians and act like Christians on Sunday but step outside the church doors and act completely different.
I know I am not perfect. I have done the same thing many times. But why do we do this? If we are Christians, we should be on fire for God every second of our lives. Why do we not let that show all of the time? It is so easy to fall into the habits of the world, but as Christians, we should put forth an effort to be different.
I think that's where the problem lies.
We know we are doing wrong, but we don't try to fix it.
We know we shouldn't cuss, but we do it anyway.
We know we shouldn't listen to certain types of music, but we still do it.
We know we shouldn't go see rated R movies, but that doesn't stop us.
I am challenging myself to be different. I want to be so different from the world that others might notice and ask me why I choose to go a different way than others. I want to make the God that saved me from an eternity of misery proud! I want others to see Christ in me. I hope that if you are a Christian and you realize that you are living a worldly life, that you might take the same challenge I am taking.
Let others see Jesus in you!
