Taking a break!

I finally took the OAT this week and since I did pretty well, I decided it was time to take a break from studying and do something crafty like I used to.  My project: Fabric Flowers.
Here is the really simple HOW TO:
 1. Decide how large you want your flower to be (my flower has a 4-inch diameter).  Draw six circles with the diameter of your choice.  Choose a fabric that won't fray too much!  Cut the circles out and cut a slit from the edge of the circles into the center.
2.  Begin folding the circle at the slit.  The folding pattern should be back and forth like making a paper fan.  Once you have completed the folding of the circle, you should have what looks like a multi layered triangle.
3.  Secure the triangle (which will become a petal) with a needle in thread at the point.
4.  Fold each of the six circles and attach them (I used hot glue) to a piece of round felt.  This completes your first layer of petals.
5.  Repeat these same instructions using circles about a 1/2 inch smaller.  Fold them, and secure them on top of the previous layer of petals.
6.  Complete the flower by securing a petal directly in the center.
7. TA-DA!  You're finished.

I attached a pin on the backside of my flower so I can wear it with different outfits.  Smaller flowers would look cute on headbands or hair clips.
