Hiking has always been a part of my life. My parents would take my brother and I hiking when we were just old enough to walk, and I still love hiking to this day. My favorite place to hike in Georgia is Tallulah Gorge. Tallulah Gorge, located in Tallulah Falls, Ga. is two miles long and about 1,000 feet deep. To get down inside the gorge, you walk down over 600 steps to a beautiful waterfall lookout.
On the way down, there is suspension bridge suspended 80 feet over the river that runs through the gorge.
Once you make it to the end of the steps, you have to have a permit to continue. You have to cross the river by jumping from rock to rock, and then you decide how to make it all the way to Bridal Veil Falls because there is no trail. The hike isn't really a hike. It's more like rock jumping.
It's fun, great exercise, and when you get to the bottom, you can slide down the huge rock waterfall!!
