I am a face washing fool. Seriously. I love skin care and I think great skin is the first step to being beautiful on the outside (most guys would agree with that, too). I have always suffered from oily skin. As a teenager, I looked forward to the day when I would grow up and have beautiful skin...but that day never came. I am almost 22 now, and I still have to go to ridiculous measures to ensure that my skin stays as clear as possible. I have gone through so many face washes, face creams, and medicines...and I think I have finally found the products that work the best on my skin. So here you go...
My first skin favorite is St. Ives Apricot Scrub. I remember first seeing this stuff advertise on TV when I was probably about 10 years old, and I was mesmerized by the pretty ladies in the commercial and how their skin would go from dull to radiant with one wash! And guess what...it really does work like that. Exfoliating is a wonderful thing. The top layer of out skin is just dead cells, so you have to scrub all of that off to find the beautiful, new skin that's under there. This product contains 2% salicylic acid, so it helps prevent break outs. Try it!
Next, we have Neutrogena Redness soothing cream cleanser. Neutrogena really has great products. As soon as I began using this cleanser, I really noticed a change in my skin's complexion. This cleanser isn't harsh on my skin and it leaves me feeling hydrated but not oily. Again, this product's active ingredient is salicylic acid to help prevent future breakouts.
A few months ago, I went to a Mary Kay party. I was really dumbstruck when I realized that I needed to start using anti-aging products. But it's so true. My skin is still young, so I better start the anti-aging stuff right now. Once I get all wrinkly, it might be too late. Mary Kay has a great line of products call TimeWise for each skin type. I only have the moisturizer, but you can purchase the whole miracle set that includes a cleanser a few other little extras. I find that this moisturizer is really light and it doesn't clog my pores.
Lastly, I want to talk about medication for acne. I am highly allergic to benzoyl peroxide which is found in most face washes and acne medications, such as the 'oh so popular' ProActive. I have been to the dermatologist so many times trying to find the right medication/wash/cream to help my skin. After trying antibiotics for a couple of years (which I wouldn't recommend) and retinol formulas (that make you super sensitive to the sun- not good for a swimming pool lover, I think I have finally found the medication that works for me! It's called Veltin. It's a cream that I put on my face at night and I rarely ever wake up with blemishes. If you aren't a teenager anymore and you're still fighting with your skin, ask you dermatologist if they think Veltin would work for you.

I'm obsessed with skincare, too! I always want to try everything! And I also have oily, acne-prone skin. I've been thinking about doing a post about my skincare regimen for a while, but it seems to change so often, haha.
