I know that I am blessed with an incredible family who would do anything for me, but sometimes there is really no denying it.  Since I have decided to go a different route with my career, I have had many opportunities presented to me and it is thanks to my family that I am getting to take full advantage of these opportunities.  I have been looking through optometry schools and trying to decide which ones will fit me the best, and I came across an open house taking place at the Illinois College of Optometry.  This school is in Chicago, which can be a good 12 hours away depending on traffic and route.  All it took was one phone call home and my dad agreed to drive me to Chicago.  Only the best parents in the world would do this for their daughter.

I also came across an opportunity to travel to a Central American country to work in an eye-care station for two weeks.  This trip will not be cheap so I worried that my parents would say no, but yet again, after one phone call it was decided that I could go!

I really am thankful that my parents try to do all they can to help me out now and in preparation for my future.  I love my family.
