This weekend my little brother will be turning 18 years old. I probably shouldn't call him my "little" brother anymore considering he is bigger than I am now, even though we all thought that day would never come. I feel incredibly blessed to have a brother as great as Dylan. I often hear stories of how siblings fight their entire lives, and it is hard for me to even begin imagining what that must like.
I don't know if he feels this way about me, but I consider him to be one of my best friends. There is something awesome about having a sibling that you are actually friends with. It is a bond that can never be broken.
We have watched each other grow up. We have sat in our rooms and listened to the other get chewed out by our mama about numerous things. We have been to each other's school events and supported each other throughout the years. We have shared many funny times together (like the time I vomitted on my arm over and over while bike riding at Cade's Cove). We have experienced scary times together (like the time you fell off your chin-up bar and had some sort of attack). We aren't perfect. We definitely have hit each other a few times in our lives, but none of that matters because we love each other unconditionally.
I am so proud of the young man he has become. We share many of the same traits, but he also possesses many which I lack. Although I am shy, you are outgoing. I can't run a mile and you can run 10. You always manage to brighten people's day. I admire all of your qualities and I can only hope that a few of them will rub off on me.
Even though you are my younger (adopted, hehe) brother, I will always admire and look up to you. Thank you for being the best sibling anyone could ask for. Happy 18th birthday!

This is sweet Lindsay!! You've been an awesome sister and role model for him, and Dylan is a great young man, and a wonderful role model for the younger ones if they'd just listen. I think that the sibling bond that is shared is a rare thing indeed, and I am glad I have a sister to share that with, so I know the bond you're talking about. Oh, and for the scary times you've shared...maybe you should've added the time we had to sleep in Dylan's room after watching the exorcism of Emily Rose...lol ;) jk...
Keep on writing girl....I enjoy your posts.

I'm glad you like my random blogs. I love Dylan so much that I couldn't pass up the opportunity to write some nice things about home. It's your birthday today!! Happy Birthday!
