The love of my life.

Piano has always been my passion.  Well, maybe not always.  I remember many occasions as a child where I threw terrible fits because I DID NOT want to practice for 30 minutes.  Now I am extremely grateful that my mom forced me to practice.  I have a skill that will be useful to me until I get arthritis or go blind.

When I first started college, I really wanted to be a music major.  I could think of nothing else that I truly enjoyed doing or that I was good at.  After considering the limited job opportunities that would be available if I chose music to be my only path, I opted for a more practical major...Biology.

Although my education is steering me in a different direction, I am still blessed to be able to share music with those around me.  I am one of the pianists at my church and I play at my parents' church when I am needed and I have given piano lesson to several children within the past couple of years.  I love being able to teach others how to play the piano.  The piano is one of the most practical and useful instruments, and in my opinion, one of the most pleasing to the ear.

If you want to hear some great piano music, listen to Yiruma.  He is a Korean composer and pianist, and his work is extraordinary.  Listen for yourself: Yiruma- The River Flows in You
